Kate - a very pretty white female cat with a grey spot on her head and tail. She is spayed and appears to be about 2 years old. She can be a bit feisty at times so our guess is that this little lady would prefer a quiet family possibly with older children. She is a flirt - just loves men! It is likely that Kate would do well with another cat in the home. She is the picture of health, up to date on all of her shots, and also has an embedded microchip. If you would like to open your home to this beautiful cat she, can been seen at the Brian J. Silverlieb Animal Care and Control Center located on Old Farm Road, Newtown, CT (203) 426-6900.

Calley - a beautiful calico female cat. She is spayed and about 5 or 6 years old. Calley had been enjoying a good life in a comfortable home but her owner had to enter a nursing home. Sadly, Calley became neglected and began to experience conditions resembling homelessness. She became somewhat anxious. The result is that she needs a quite setting. She would do well as an only cat in a quiet home environment. She would need a bit of time to adjust (but not too much) to her new home but after, you'd find her to be gentle, sweet, and inquisitive. While many cats do well with children, Calley probably would not. She could tolerate periods of being alone but would welcome you back in her own feline way. Lastly, Calley would like you to know that she has 6 toes on her front paws. But she doesn't sport those big "club shaped paws" that many 6 toed cats have. No, Calley's paws are dainty - well befitting the beautiful lady that she is. She can be seen at the Brian J. Silverleib Animal Care & Control Center in Newtown.

A large male orange and white cat found in the Autumn Ridge and Butterfield section of Newtown. He appears to be a stray, having been well kept and fed by someone. He has a nice disposition despite his being exposed to unfamiliar people and environments. He was found in the garage of a compassionate resident who brought him to the shelter for care and, hopefully, a reunion. If you recognize this handsome guy please claim him or contact the Brian J. Silverleib Animal Care & Control Center in Newtown.

Bella - a beautiful white and grey female cat. She is spayed and weighs 5 or 6 pounds. Her right eye is blue while her left is an amber color which only serves to enhance her beauty. She is about 1 1/2 years old and just full of curiosity. Bella is a little shy at first but warms up to you soon enough and then showers you with attention and dazzles you with her feline skills. With her soft coat, captivating eyes, and gentle demeanor, Bella will have no difficulty in adopting & charming a new human family. The only reason she is looking for a home is that her previous owner already has an older cat who would not accept Bella. So, that could be your gain if you are looking for a long term relationship with a very special cat.

Elvis - a neutered white male cat with a grey/black patch on the top of his head. His handsome features are enhanced by his brilliant eyes - one blue and the other yellow. He weighs in at about 10 pounds and is 1 - 1 1/2 years old. Elvis has a marvelous disposition - very friendly, getting along with people, kids, other cats, and dogs alike. Moreover, he is willing to play at the drop of a hat - just toss a toy mouse in his direction and stand back! He is a lucky guy, having been abandoned in Newtown, and eventually found and cared for by the shelter. He now sports a micro-chip for positive identification. Clearly, Elvis is going to make some family very happy, and soon at that - he won't be unadopted for long!

George - a neutered white male cat with a grey/black patch on the top of his head (sound familiar). He also weighs in at 10 pounds or so and is likely 1 1/2 - 2 years old. Just like Elvis, George has a wonderful disposition and will easily fit into just about any family situation. He will be at home with children and other pets. He's playful and loves to be petted. He could easily be mistaken for Elvis except for two things. His eyes are the same color, a beautiful bright yellow. And, he has 6 toes on his front paws. He'd be right at home in the Hemingway mansion in Key West. George was found in a box one day, dropped off at the shelter. He also has a micro-chip embedded in him for positive identification and undoubtedly will be adopted by some lucky family very soon.

Oscar - A very handsome neutered, male cat. This very gentle boy has a sweet disposition, is quite laid back, and very friendly. He is grey and white and weighs in at 18 pounds or so. While he apparently hasn't missed many meals in his life he has suffered the loss of his owner (deceased) but appears ready to accept a new owner willing to show him the love and affection he had grown accustomed to. Oscar will make a wonderful companion for a good many years to come.

Bug - a neutered male cat around 5 years old or so. He's as black as
coal and has beautiful yellow eyes. He is very sweet and about as laid
back as a cat can be. He is very curious, loves people, and gets along
with other cats. Just scratch his ear once and you've got a friend for
life! Can't quite figure out why he is called Bug but, if you don't like
it, he'll be receptive to whatever name you may decide on. All he asks
is for you to give him a chance at becoming one of the best friends you'll
ever have. This handsome micro-chipped guy can be seen at the Brian J.

Rico - a neutered 3 year old male cat with a gray coat and some tiger striping. He had been abandoned for quite some time and he was near to becoming feral. But, he is past that now since he does well with other cats and even had another feline "buddy". Sadly, for Rico at least, his buddy was adopted and now he is left to himself and the other cats at the shelter. He is a little timid with people but we are confident that he'll overcome that with a little TLC from some generous & kind family. He is quite vocal, making unique sounds in attempting to communicate. He, like all of the shelter dogs & cats, has a microchip. Rico's a handsome boy and well worth seeing at the Brian J. Silverlieb Animal Care and Control Center located on Old Farm Road, Newtown, CT (203) 426-6900 or you may call Canine Advocates at (203) 426-5327.

Ziva - a 2 year old charming spayed female with a lovely gray tiger striped coat with a white chest and paws. She is a very clean & tidy cat but somewhat shy. Her shyness, however, does not dampen her very sweet nature. Once you get to know her we can well imagine her spending many contented hours purring in your lap. She was abandoned and found her way to the shelter just about a month ago. She seems to do well with other cats. Ziva is a splendid example of feline beauty and grace and will surely enrich the lives of the caring family that decides to give her a forever home. Ziva, it seems, is especially fond of children, perhaps recalling a happier time in her life when she was part of a family. She has a microchip embedded for identification and can be seen at the Brian J. Silverlieb Animal Care and Control Center located on Old Farm Road, Newtown, CT (203) 426-6900 or you may call Canine Advocates at (203) 426-5327.
